Hi, the customer messaged and requested to have the item sent to a different address, is it ok to edit the address and send the item to the new address?

You MUST ship to the address that eBay provided to you. One of two things are happening here.
First, you need to ascertain whether this IS your actual buyer. There’s a scam where someone will contact the seller and act like they’re the buyer and need to change the address, but they’re not really your buyer. That way they get the item for free, and you have to refund the real buyer, so you’re out the money AND the item.
Second, if this is your actual buyer, you still can’t just change the address. You will lose what little bit of seller protection you have. Respond that you are required to ship to the address that came through with their payment. To change it, you’ll have to cancel the current transaction, relist, and let the buyer repurchase. They can change the address at any point up until they actually submit payment.
