customer doesn't pay
Has anyone experienced a reoccurring problem where someone bids on an item and doesn't follow through with payments?
This has happened to me 5 times in a row. Are these bots bidding/buying items? I receive scam messages from accounts wanting me to send it to a different address and i report them. No responses from the actual buyers.

As a new seller selling an expensive item, you are a scammer magnet. You would be better off trying to sell a few lower cost items to get some legitimate sales and experience under your belt. Serious buyers would then be more willing to give you a chance (and the scammers don't care about inexpensive items).
But here's how to handle the unpaid items you've had...
If a buyer hasn't paid by day five, select the cancellation option in the dropdown next to the order using the reason that the buyer hasn't paid. The buyer will earn an unpaid item strike on his account. Two or more and his ability to buy will be limited or even ended.
Add the buyer to your blocked buyer list here:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Scroll down that page and turn on the option to auto-block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items within 12 months. That will help to protect you from repeat offenders.
Are the people who are requesting address changes the same people who aren't paying?

OP2 years agoThank you for the guidance.
The people requesting an address change are different people that the buyer. I've recognized this as scammers but they have been messaging me independently requesting I send to an address-- I've reported each of these instances. Highlighting this to the Ebay community who may experience similar issues.

Yes, this is also a fairly common scam unfortunately.
