Customer Dispute with Credit Card Company?
In late September, a buyer in Florida purchased an item that got delayed in delivery due to hurricane Helene. The freight company was estimating a 1 week delay, but the buyer stated, "I told him that’s not good enough it needs to be here today. Just refund my money I don’t need this crap anymore." The freight company returned the shipment to us. EBay found in favor of the buyer, but I disputed it and they changed the findings to closing in my favor. Since I got the equipment back, I offered a partial refund (minus the shipping both ways and eBay fees). I gave the buyer the detailed calculations for the partial refund I was offering and they refused to accept it, saying he would dispute it with his credit card.
It has been 10 days since I last heard from the buyer. How long does it take to find out if a customer disputed the charges and if they did dispute it, how long before we hear if the credit card company is going to take the money back?
