Credit Card Complications?
I wanted to make an offer on an item, and when I entered my card's details I was given an error message that said something like, "Could Not Apply Card, Choose Another Form of Payment". I was given the option to use PayPal or try a different card. I ended up missing the close of 2 auctions because this system would not accept my card. While this was happening, I verified the funds were there, and the card worked. I spoke to cusotmer service, they said that sellers cannot add cards to their accounts? or something like that... but even in incognito and logged out, I tried to make an offer and got the same issue. Anyone know what this is?

Mentor1 year agoIf the seller requires a payment method specified in advance for a bid or an offer, eBay will attempt to place a temporary payment hold for the full amount on the card; not all cards support that.
If so, the card may work fine for "buy it now".
Try a different card for offers or auctions.
