Credit Card
I have used a credit card to pay for items, make offers, etc. dozens of times but now all of a sudden Ebay is asking me to enter card number etc. again. What is going on????

What you may be experiencing is eBay’s Auto-pay. It is a Seller setting and each Seller can turn it ON or OFF for Auctions and the Offer function. Some Sellers do not know it is on their account, when it was rolled out eBay did not notify Sellers that it was added AND that the default setting is ON. Sellers don’t see what Buyers see.
If you see these screens then it is the Auto-pay feature that the Selle ris using:
When you win an auction of an offer is accepted by either party you have one hour to change to a different payment method but in either case you will be charged.
If a Seller has Auto-pay Turned ON and offers Combined shipping and you win an auction eBay gives you 7 days to continue to shop or pay, their thinking is you may want to take advantage of Combined shipping.

OP6 months agoThanks for the reply mr_lincoln, but I don't think that is the answer because it's not just when bidding or making an offer, it's even when I choose "Buy It Now". I think something is fishy about this and suspect a hack or breach has occurred, so I won't be buying anything on Ebay again until it is fixed.
