Creating Effective Custom Fields for Inventory Management
Summary: bearable68 is seeking advice on adding a custom field to inventory listings to display item locations. They are interested in best practices for implementation and the impact on efficiency. They also inquire about potential challenges and solutions.
Hi everyone,
I’m considering adding a custom field to my inventory listings to display the exact location of items. This could help with organization and retrieval, but I’m curious about the best practices for implementing this. For those of you who have done something similar, how did you structure your custom fields, and what kind of impact did it have on your efficiency? Did you encounter any challenges and how did you overcome them?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and advice! How do I begin to create this field?

Mentor2 weeks agoebay offers CUSTOM LABEL (SKU) that many sellers use to specify where the item is located. Depending on what you are selling, you can specify a tub, a shelf, a room, etc. For my pins, I purchased plastic bins for Dollar Tree that were 3 for $1.25 . They measure 9-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 2 inches high. I can place about 20 pins in each bin, which I marked P-1, P-2, P-3, etc. I have 60 bins.
