Coupon was added by eBay on my store without my knowledge

Question

On many of my items eBay has put a offer using code SAVETHISHOLIDAY. I was not aware of this coupon and someone purchased $305 boots from me then told me the code did not work. Now they want me to refund them the discount. How did I opt in and how can I get eBay to give my customer the discount?

Gently explain to the buyer that the coupon was offered by eBay, not by you. They should contact customer service for assistance.

I would have thought that eBay would let you know if some of your items were going to be included in the promotion.
