Country of Origin
It's my understanding that in creating listings, Country of Origin means the country where the item is manufactured (which is evident on tags). Whatever the product tag/box says, I list it. China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam etc. I compete against a large volume seller (primarily selling Target liquidation) who lists the United States as country of origin on all their listings. I have asked eBay about this misrepresentation and they have done nothing. If eBay is inserting country of origin on seller's listings, why in the world are they allowing a seller to knowingly present their entire inventory as American?

The Item specifics Country of Origin is not required to be used. However, when it is there it should be filled in properly. Chances are your competition is using a template and prefilled United States, and is not taking the time to change it for each listing, which is common for some high volume sellers. As a competitor of that seller, your report does't carry any weight even if it is true and ebay report system is seemingly done using A.I. now and doesn't see even obvious falsehoods.
So far you have done well and have a 100% rating, what is his, and have you looked at his profile? If he's a very high volume seller with a 99%+ rating, they may still have hundreds of negative and neutral feedback, which sooner or later catch up with them.

OP5 months agoI've read that if a seller ships internationally, country of origin is required for customs/tariffs. This shipper does sell internationally and therefore is providing false info to the customs process. This seller has also blocked me from buying on their site because I dared message them pointing out that I was selling the same item they were and the country of origin was China, not the US.
They have thousands of negative reviews, but overwhelmingly they are positive. People just want their stuff I guess. Sad that eBay knowingly allows this to happen, but they make a lot of $$ from their store.
