Counterfeit Morgan
Hi, I purchased an 1894 (P) Morgan Silver Dollar on June 3, 2021, in the total amount of $2,913.81 from a Seller who had a 100% Rating and good Reviews. (Reason I know that's the one is the only 1894 I've ever owned, the most I've ever paid, plus a distinguishing dark spot on Lady Liberty's face, just like in the picture)
Once I received the Morgan, I did all the "at home test", the magnet, ping, flip for Obverse and Reverse match and weight. On the weight it, it was a little under but seemed in range. So, I recorded it and put in my album of other Morgan's that I've accumulated as a retirement supplement/hobby. I recently took three of my top Morgan's to a reputable Gold, Silver and Coin Shop (Hoskin's Gold and Coins Paducah, KY. 42001) to sell, the owner used his Sigma Metals machine to test, it showed the 1894 to be a Counterfeit, other 2 were fine. The owner even said it looked more genuine than the other legit ones, he tried more test, and all showed to be a Counterfeit Silver Dollar. I know it's been over 3 years, but there has to be something because this is a serious Federal Crime! I tried contacting the Seller but no reply, have his name and address from the shipping, tried looking up a phone number but no luck. Any advice would be Greatly Appreciated!!!!!!
