Counterfeit jewelry
I purchased a ring from a seller in India. Ad said the stones were of natural origin, unenhanced & certified, and the metal was 14kt white gold. I told the seller that I would be testing the ring when it arrived. The store immediately disappeared from eBay. I messaged the store to cancel the order & got no reply. I didn’t expect the ring to even arrive at this point, so I contacted my bank, and they issued a temporary refund based on fraud. When the ring arrived, it did not look like the ring pictured. The certificate was not from a known source. The metal and stone color was way off. The label said, “Imitation jewelryâ€. A local jeweler verified it to be costume jewelry worth absolutely nothing. My bank now says they are not liable, and eBay will not help since I opened a claim with my bank. The store is not answering repeated messages, and of course, eBay is unreachable & clearly does not care. I will never do business with eBay again, but what can I do about getting this returned and refunded?
