Counterfeit items being sold

Question

eBay seems to have little to no options to report counterfeit items being sold, which is quite disturbing. Itâ€™s almost like they encourage it with no apparent avenues to report and investigate a seller for it.

Are there any options Iâ€™m missing here? All I seem to be able to do is try to beg the seller for a refund on return and leave negative feedback.

There's no way to corroborate such an allegation. If eBay were to take the word of a single complainer, then they would be swarmed with false reports from other sellers trying to reduce the competition. So, what they say about a grain of salt. However, once the item is sold, and the buyer reports the item as counterfeit â€“ or otherwise discrepant â€“ by way of opening a Not As Described dispute, that's when eBay will take the word of a single complainer.

Since eBay never sees the items being listed on the site they have their 30 days from receipt Money Back Guaranty. This is how you get your money back. eBay cannot tell if the item being sent to you is a counterfeit or not so you need to use the protection of the guaranty. eBay keeps track of cases opened against a seller so if they get too many cases opened against them eBay can suspend or remove the seller.

Ebay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee for Buyer Purchase Protection. If you received something that is not as shown in the listing, you would have up to 30 days from delivery to request a refund.

If you go to your Purchase History and find the transaction, open an Item Not as Described refund request. The Seller will have three business days to respond with either a prepaid return label or a refund. If they don't respond on time, on the 4th day go back to your request and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.

Ebay depends on Buyers to report these Sellers by using the Money Back Guarantee.

But you need to open that refund request on eBay to start the refund process.
