Counterfeit Dark Shadows
Hi! I purchased a Dark Shadows complete original series in November. It was a Christmas present to me, but I opened it only yesterday, so am beyond the 30 day Ebay return period. When I opened it, I found out it had all the earmarks of a counterfeit set.
Seller refuses to refund citing it was set forth in the description of item that they couldn't verify whether it was real. Ebay closed the case last night (probably AI) so I don't have much recourse. Set I received has all the warning signs MPI Home Video posted as describing counterfeit units, such as being shrink-wrapped, missing cord to hold door open, and having solid black plastic disc housing instead of the eco friendly housings used by MPI. Just because you're selling it saying you can't verify if it's real doesn't mean you should be selling it.
It's been less than 60 days since I received package, so I am wondering if it would be worth it to dispute the charge with my credit card company or if I should just let it ride and be more careful in the future.
