counterfeit coins/silver, etc.
There are listings for nice looking coins from Hong Kong, etc with prices too good to be true. Does eBay screen for authenticity?

OP2 years agoThat is very fine, but the U.S. market is being flooded with counterfeits which devalues my collection. Ebay is aiding and abetting this situation. Why does not eBay care?

Mentor2 years agoCollectors generally don't buy from China, Hong Kong, etc., especially when prices are way below what they know they should be. Ebay also offers a money back guarantee if you receive a fake. You also can use the REPORT button on the listing, as ebay is no expert when it comes to coins so relies of those like you that are to report them and to report the seller if you receive fakes. Enough reports and/or returns for counterfeits and ebay will remove the listings and the seller.
