Counterfeit coins sold on ebay!!
Morgan dollar silver coins being sold on ebay!! They are shipped from EGNARD 1000 High St Perth Amboy NJ 08861. If you try to return them. The sellers want them returned oversea. High cost and custom forms make it a nightmare. The sellers leave out the country so you must do some research. I have reported them to ebay however Ebay still allows them to sell fake coins!!

Counterfeit items are not allowed to be listed on eBay at all. No one is authorized to sell counterfeit items. That fact alone does not stop some people from trying to sell them, however.
The problem is that unscrupulous or uninformed sellers can list genuine items and then deliver counterfeit items.
It is not always possible to look at a listing and know in advance exactly what, if anything, the seller intends to deliver. For one thing, a scammer can simply copy a listing from a genuine seller, using a genuine photo of a genuine item.
Except for a few specific categories of items that go through authentication, eBay never sees what the seller ships or the what the buyer receives, so there is nothing for eBay to check unless someone complains about what was received by invoking eBay's money back guarantee.
Sellers are responsible for the descriptions they provide, and buyers should not assume that eBay screens the listings in advance.
As long as counterfeits exist and there are folks trying to sell them, buyers will still have to be on the lookout for them, and avoid deals that are obviously too-good-to-be-true, whether they are being sold by accounts registered overseas or by domestic sellers wittingly or unwittingly buying counterfeits from overseas to sell here.
Buyers that doubt their ability to distinguish a genuine article from a counterfeit one should only consider purchasing from trustworthy sellers that have an established reputation for delivering exactly what was described, and should avoid deals that are too-good-to-be-true, or deals that are offered by inexperienced sellers that might disappear soon after the transaction is made, or else be prepared to get items authenticated by trusted sources within thirty days to be able to take advantage of eBay's money back guarantee.

OP5 months agoEbay wont help. They side with the seller. I have reported the sellers to ebay however they only removed the listing not the seller.

Forget about reporting the listing; get your money back. That is how you report the seller.
If you receive an item that does not match the description, file a "not as described" return within thirty days and return the item at the seller's expense. The process is automated; if the seller does not cooperate at any point, ask eBay to step in after three business days.

The seller is required to pay for return shipping or else refund the buyer outright.

OP5 months agoI already sent the coins back. Its not at seller expense. Its at my expense. The sellers send them from Perth Amboy New jersey however they want them sent back to Africa , Uruguay etc. Custom forms and postage fees are exspensive.

Mentor5 months agoThe buyer is not required to pay for return shipping for "not as described" returns; the seller cannot require any returns be sent anywhere but where the coins were listed as shipping from unless the seller actually pays.
If the seller does not pay in advance for return shipping, the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund without any return.
If you chose to pay for return shipping yourself, that was your mistake, not eBay's.

OP5 months agoI have tried to receive a refund by sending counterfeit coins back. The sellers require the coin be sent back to Africa Uruguay etc. They must got through customs!! Ebay employee's believe unscrupulous sellers rather than protect buyers. I have reported unscrupulous sellers however ebay still allows the sellers to sell counterfeit us coins. I will not buy coins on ebay again!! This is not knockoff designer handbags. This is counterfeit US currency!!!! Ebay has failed to understand the gravity if the situation. The unscrupulous sellers have them mailed from America !! They do not pay for the return.

Sellers are responsible for paying for return shipping for items that are "not as described". If the seller will not provide a prepaid return label or pay in advance for shipping, ask eBay to step in to force a refund without a return.

OP5 months agoEbay has stepped in. They are siding with the seller. I even sent them proof i sent the coins at my expense. Ebay can not be trusted. And I have purchased over 40 Carson city GSA coins!!!

You would have been better off following eBay's return procedure rather than returning outside of eBay. You need proof of delivery to the seller's return address, which you get by using the label provided through eBay.
You may still have recourse through your payment method. Check with your card issuer.

OP5 months agoThats a great idea. I actually did file a dispute with Amex. They credited my account. But then Ebay employees took the side of seller. I filed a complaint with better buisness bureau. Ebay has yet to respond. If no credit is provided it small claims court.

I thought eBay stopped accepting American Express cards? Has that changed recently?
Once your card issuer credited you, that should have been the end of it. eBay cannot take money back from the card issuer without the card issuer's approval. What kind of dispute did you open with your card issuer?

OP4 months agoEbay is changing the return policy for coins bullion and currency. If the seller does not offer returns you only have three days to request a refund. This provide more opportunity for sellers selling counterfeit coins to keep thier money!! Stop buying coins from sellers not offering refunds!!!
