Counterfeit AC Compressor
Who can tell me how to contact the legal department for eBay? Bought a (no return) AC compressor that turned out to be a rebuilt unit. Installed it before we proved it was not new as advertised. Sold as a no return product - which also proves it's counterfeit. Now seller demands return for refund. We paid $1200 to install it and will not take it out unless reimbursed for the labor. eBay promised a refund paid by 8/5/2024. Now they demand it's return knowing we won't take the loss on labor expenses. My lawyers say we will recover up to ten thousand for damages, costs, and legal fees. So who wants to save us time and money with contact info. Thanks.

Mentor2 years agoIt is the seller who chooses not to refund until the item is returned not ebay, you need to go after the seller.
Open a Return Request for an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED. This overrides no returns. Seller will pay for the return, if he wants it back, and/or refund. If no return label or refund by the fourth day, go back and ask ebay to step in and they will force a refund without a return. Do not close or let the case expire without doing this, if not resolved.

Mentor2 years ago@rydan-5851 Unfortunately you do have to return the item at the sellers expense for shipping to receive a refund if the seller issues a return shipping label. eBay doesn't cover extra expenses such as install and removal, nor would a credit card if you filed a chargeback. The only way to possibly get reimbursed for those expenses would be a small claim suit.
No returns doesn't mean no refunds. The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules the sellers return policy. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a not as described return request. The sellers no return policy is ONLY for buyers remorse return requests that use reasons such as doesn't fit, changed mind, found better price.
Here's what you need to do:
Open a return with the reason doesn't match description or photos. OR doesn't work, defective.

Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.
