Cost of goods
I need to get this message to eBay there does not seem to be a way? "I need the ability to enter or edit cost of goods for the 73 items I’ve sold this year. If this feature had been working since January 1, this issue would not exist. Without it, my tax records cannot be fully accurate. I can add cost of goods to unsold items without issue, so this limitation is concerning. Please review this matter carefully, as it directly impacts reporting accuracy. I rated 1 star for attention to reflect its seriousness."

This is a community board. eBay is not here.
The new COG field hasn't been rolled out to all sellers yet. I don't have it yet, so I can't play around with it for you to see how it's working. However, your tax records certainly can be fully accurate by doing what you've done in the past.
However, you can provide feedback to eBay about the listing form by clicking the three dots at the top right of the page and selecting Your feedback.
Personally, I won't be sharing COG information with eBay - imagine what they will use it for. (What a great tool for eBay to use to see how much wiggle room there is for a fee increase...) My opinion is that eBay doesn't need to know anything more about my items than my buyers do.

On the orders page in seller hub there is a link for comments. You can send your comment to eBay with that link.
