I just don't know what to say about what has happened to eBay. I've been selling here for nearly 25 years and the decline in services or ANY rational applications on the part of eBay is so extreme it's as if eBay was bought by a company that has the goal of putting eBay out of business for good. The algorithms are lost to all reason; if a person types in '1920s black embroidered dress' one would expect something from that era in that color with that embellishment to pop up, but instead you get just about anything BUT. I have Blue Fish jackets listed that simply don't show up though plenty of jackets that have absolutely nothing to do with that label, or the color blue or fish do. And now they want people who already pay fees and store expenses to pay still MORE in order to get their things seen at all! It's obscene and clearly there are many many people who advise to go ANYWHERE else; Etsy, Poshmark, a host of others. eBay, FIX THIS.

If I copy and paste those exact keywords into an eBay search, hit the search button, and then choose the "Women's Vintage Clothing: Dresses" category, this is what I see:

Those results look reasonable to me, other than one blue "mourning" dress list as black, though that may be an overly washed out photo image.

OP5 months agoThat's interesting. When I type in those exact words I get yellow, red, blue dresses, non-1920s dresses, beaded bags, etc among a few black dresses. I don't just invent the things that are happening on eBay, there really do seem to be gradually developing issues that are not being dealt with at all by the company.

Try the link I provided. Do the results you see look reasonable?
What is the difference between my search and your search? What category are you searching? What sort order are you using?
If you are searching "All categories" you will see more varied results other than vintage dresses that contain those same keywords in the title or item specifics. If you are using "Best match" sort order, you may be seeing additional, less-relevant results compared to other sort orders.
