Contradictory Information
Summary: beezertoo expressed frustration with listings on an online marketplace, noting discrepancies between claimed and actual product conditions and hidden import duties. They criticize the platform for lacking transparency and having unresponsive customer service.
In looking at listings for printers, I see most list condition as New at the top in Seller Description yet many then state Refurbished in the fine print where a buyer may not notice. This seems sleazy to me. Same thing on several listings by foreign sellers stating No Import Duties, yet a pop up states Buyer will need to pay import fees at delivery. Which is it? Come on EBay! Raise your standards and enforce full transparency. I tried to contact customer service but couldn't even get a chat bot, much less a phone number!

Mentor1 month ago@beezertoo I recommend always reading the descriptions very carefully. eBay does not check sellers listings for accuracy since they do not have access to the merchandise.
This is why eBay has the Money Back Guarantee. You have 30 days from the date of delivery for most items to file a not as described return request. The seller pays return shipping.
I would avoid buying an item like this from international sellers because they can not provide an eBay return label and they have to send the $ to your PayPal account to pay return shipping.
In regards to the information not matching about the tariffs eBay has applied this message to all international sellers accounts . A seller can not turn it off, this is by design to make sure that the buyer is aware that they are paying tariffs.
