Contacting a seller for something I purchased almost a year ago

I bought something that I need replacement parts for. I tried to use "contact seller" but I keep getting error message, please try again later. The seller exists in eBay because I can see their shop, I just can't contact them. Why isn't the contact function working?

If you are replying to an old message or using an old item number, the link will not work if the listing has expired.

Try creating a new message by going to the seller's feedback or profile page and using the contact link there. If prompted for an item number, choose a current item number or else choose "not about an item" rather than using an expired number.
