Contacting a seller
Is anyone able to contact a seller? It used to work, but hasn't worked for some time (months, at least). Does it work for anyone?

OP1 year agoYes; I've done all that. I cannot send any message to any seller. I cannot type anything in the message area. I've on eBay for decades, and never had this problem until a few months ago.

OP1 year agoHi, Eastlaneave. Desktop, the same one I've been using for years. Using Google Chrome; haven't tried it on Firefox or the detested Edge. I'll try those and reply again after I've done so.

OP1 year agoUpdate: Same thing in Firefox and also in Edge. I've sent messages to sellers hundreds of times in more than a quarter-century on eBay, but not lately because it doesn't work.

On desktop, do you see this "still have questions" at the bottom?
-- If not, change the screen resolution until you do. (Ctrl + or Ctrl -)
If you do see the "still have questions"
Can you click Contact Seller and open this screen?

OP1 year agoYes, and I get the screen you show, but in the typing area where it shows the warning abut contact outside eBay, I cannot type anything. Back when it used to work, I would overtype that warning with the text I wanted to send to the seller. Either that, or my brain has been cooked to mush. I can't enter anything there, even when I'm trying to send a message to a seller from whom I've made many purchases and with whom I've exchanged many messages by this exact process.

Type in the area at the very bottom where I have added a green box. Type over the words "Send Message" in that box. (Not the bigger "Send Message" button. )
Then click the "Send Message" button.

Mentor1 year agoYou need to click on the "Send message" text that is highlighted in the previous message and then start typing.

- Not all sellers accept questions before you buy an item. If the seller accepts questions, you'll see Contact seller in the Seller Information section of the listing.
Browser
- Go to the Seller Information section at the top of the listing on browser and select Contact Seller.
- Choose the topic that best matches your question on the Find answers page.
- If you can't find a solution to your question, select Other or Still Have Questions, then select Contact the seller.
- Type your question for the seller in the area that says "send message."
- Click the blue send message button to send it (the button won't be active until you add a message).
App
- Click to the Contact Seller button at the bottom of the listing.
- Type your question for the seller in the area that says "send a message..."
- Click the triangle/arrow icon to send the message. (the icon will turn blue once you have written something.)
