Contacting A Real Person?
my girlfriend, bought a scam listing and i havent heard anything from the seller. I’ve tried to cancel as well as message him but it’s obviously a scam. I’m trying to get in contact with someone to start a money back request but for the past five days, it has just said that live support is down…. please I need help because the AI Chatbot does absolutely nothing.

Mentor5 months ago@stevekres-0. Sorry you had a bad seller.
Can you share a link or item number for the listing?
A buyer can only request to cancel, a seller can accept or decline. Not accepting to cancel doesn't automatically mean it's a scam.
What type of scam? If you answer my questions I can tell you what to do.

OP5 months agoFor sure, here’s the item number 366402421209. The sellers username is Grisu_331. To me it seems like an obvious but maybe im worng. The product is severely underpriced compared to the actual market value of the item, the seller has very little feedback/reviews and supposedly now the seller has taken down all their other listings. Im not sure necessarily what “type” of scam this could be, but it just doesn’t seem legit. It’s been six days now and we haven’t heard anything from the seller as well they haven’t shipped anything out. The estimated delivery date is up to a whole month away so I don’t really want to wait that long to start the money back process if nothing arrives.

Mentor4 months agoGo to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

Mentor4 months ago@stevekres-0. I understand that it's frustrating but eBay will not be able to force a refund from the seller until the item is past due.
Talking to an agent won't change the site policy.
You will need to file a not received refund request when it's one day PAST the last estimated delivery date stated in the purchase history.
Come back if you have any problems with the case.
Do not contact your payment method for a chargeback or eBay can no longer help you. Save this option for last.

OP4 months agohi thank you for all the advice so far. I waited for a tracking number. A tracking number was provided two days ago and yesterday the package was “delivered” but nothing arrived at my residence. I contacted UPS to tell them that my package was delivered to the wrong address. but when they asked me what address should be on the package associated to the tracking number, they said that sent to a different address Addressed to a different person. Unfortunately, they could not give me the address nor the name due to confidential outer reason. Do I now make a claim for item not received?

Mentor4 months ago@stevekres-0. It sounds like you are a victim of the false tracking scam.
I'm sorry that happened.
You have already done the first two steps>
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office/shipper if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
FOR UPS:
You can usually find the weight and other details for UPS here:
https://www.ups.com/track?loc=en_US&requester=ST/
then click " Proof of Delivery"
The proof of delivery may have more details about the delivery site, and the weight. Screenshot that.
FOR FEDEX:
You can usually find the weight and other details for FedEx here:
https://www.fedex.com/en-us/tracking.html
Then click 'View More Details' to see the package weight. Screenshot that.
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller used a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on Instagram this way:
Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you so save this option for last.
