I entered Agent to chat box trillion times. This annoying AI kept messaging back same answer over and over again.it kept replying “How can I help you” Seems It is design to not connect sellers to live agent.
I sold an item couple days ago.shipped the item and eBay send me my funds the next day.I received a notification from eBay about bank verification after I sold another item today.I packed it and dropped it off the box.eBay messaged me and said that they will send 2 small deposits to my bank account for verification. When I check my inbox eBay wants me to sign in my bank account through eBay.I do not want to share my bank sign in password information with eBay and I have not received 2 small deposits to bank yet.
Package will not leave SLC UPS hub until this afternoon. Can I go pick up the package from ups and cancel this sale?
I am not going to sign in to my bank account through eBay website.
eBay does not need to know my bank account passwords.
@dularasales eBay doesn't keep your bank information. The sign up is done through an encrypted third party site called Trustly.
If you do NOT share the required information you will not paid for ANY of the sales you have made.
The buyers payments must go to a linked an verified checking account. Some sellers set up a separate checking account just for eBay.
You can cancel the sale as out of stock / damaged. You will receive a Defect on your account. The refund will come from your back up payment method for selling costs such as a credit card. HOWEVER you won't receive the buyers payment since you won't link a checking account.
After the buyers refund reaches their account then the original payout is sent to you through the linked bank account so this is NOT a good option if you refuse to provide the information that eBay is asking for.
This is the information that eBay needs for you to sell on the site>
Verify that the name and address on your eBay account matches your brick and mortar checking account and government ID EXACTLY. I had to had my middle name to my eBay account so it would match my checking account and drivers license. You will need to provide your SS#. You can not use a PO box for your registration address as seller but you can use it for your ship from and to addresses.
You can contact customer service and inquire about alternate methods of account verification.
eBay already have my bank information dude.I am not a new bee.I hold this eBay account for a long time and have no problem with my account.Every item I sells delivered to the buyer.I have %100 feedback.i have been selling and getting paid. After I sold an item this morning, uploaded tracking and shipped the item,I received a message from eBay for bank verification.eBay said they will send 2 small deposits to my bank account.I have no problem checking my bank account and entering those 2 small deposits for verification.
You miss understood my question.I was more concern about giving my bank institution log in password to eBay or 3rd party.
Why does eBay or any other 3rd party need to know my bank account password?
eBay wants me to verify the account by sending 2 micro deposits.I am fine with that.that should be good enough to verify the account after I enter deposit numbers back in to required eBay site.
@dularasales eBay is required by law to reverify sellers information periodically. The third party site ( trustly) is industry and the most secure method to share this information.
You can contact customer service as I stated to inquire about other options for account verification.
I finally spoke with Agent.I told him I will go pick up the package where I dropped off and cancel the sale if eBay requires for me to give my bank account password to eBay for verification. He said that I do not have to log into my bank account on eBay sites and give my bank account password to eBay for verification. He said 2 small deposits eBay sends will be good enough for verification.
