I’m at a loss for words I don’t understand how I could be this screwed from an order where I thought it was a simple sale. The client sent an offer I accepted. I should’ve never done so I am being held accountable for the return label the full refund so they’re an original shipping label and eBay is charging me for advertising cost and for the additional USPS package weight. I can’t even begin to describe how I should be credited or reimbursed for this headache and I don’t know who to talk to about it. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Mentoryesterday at 1:20 AM@thatdudeintexas I understand that this is frustrating. Sellers pay return shipping for items that are not as described if they want the items back.
If the buyer files a refund request SAYING that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy. Your return policy is only for buyers remorse refund requests such as doesn't fit, changed mind, etc.
If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
Seller protection:

After you receive the item back you can try and appeal the case.

Mentor3 days agoIf you want the item back, its usually how it works.
A few months ago, I lost a set of dishes because I had to cover shipping both ways, which totaled about $100 to/from. (Like $47 each way.)
I decided to let the buyer keep the dishes and only took the hit for shipping one way. These were inherited dishes, so I really didn't pay anything for them.
Another seller here later told me they won't sell full dish sets for that exact reason. They will only sell by the piece.
I haven't decided whether I will sell any more dish sets.
Live and learn.
