Confused
I was recently told I had sold an item but I saw no funds accredited to my account so I could ship the product to the buyer. So I didnt know what to do. I keep waiting for funds to hit so I could ship product but during this wait I was told money was taken out of my account because the item wasn't shipped. How c am this be when I never got the money in the first place?
Doesn't the buyer have to send the money first so we can ship the product?

On your sold item info your payment status was marked as Pending. The funds were there and the the amount you posted for shipping, was available to use to buy a label through ebay, which has the advantage of automatically uploading a tracking number besides costing less than retail rates.
eBay places a 21-30 day hold on all new sellers payments until they prove to be reliable sellers. For lower cost items the funds can be released withing 7 days of tracking showing Delivered or 21 days after a Delivered scan. More expensive ones will have the 30 day hold put in place. The link below explains the hold and when funds are released.

OP2 weeks agoHow can I correct this problem? If the buyer sent the money and I didnt touch the money shouldn't ebay be able to pay them without me incurring the cost?
It looks like they are charging me the entire amount the buyer sent.
Why not ebay just return their money if they got payment already?

Mentor2 weeks agoSince you are a new seller, you are not going to get your payments transferred to you immediately. This does not mean you do not have to ship the item.
How it works:
You sell an item and the buyer pays for the item. In your records, eBay records it as "paid" and "ship item"
You can ship with your own label or purchase one through eBay with eBay labels. You can use the money the buyer paid to pay for the label if you use eBay labels.
eBay hangs on to the payment in your account. The hold varies. Sometimes eBay will pay out to your bank account as soon as the item shows delivered. Sometimes they payout in 30 days.
Since you did not ship, they refunded the buyer. You likely owe fees to eBay on that transaction. You should have shipped and since you didn't, eBay stepped in to refund the buyer, this caused a defect on your account. eBay does not tolerate these defects and will suspend your account from selling if you get too many.
Check your payout status or request withdrawals from the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
