Confirming fees for a specific item
I would like to sell a single, stainless steel and partially platinum wristwatch. I want to confirm the specific amount of selling fees as the explanation provided on eBay is not fully clear (there are two different fee structures noted below).
Can anyone here please confirm that the amount of total fees that will be due to eBay upon sale is based on the second category below? *highlighted in blue
*Also, what additional fees will I be charged for the Authentication Process that eBay offers to buyers?
Jewelry & Watches (except Watches, Parts & Accessories) =
- 15% if total amount of the sale is $5,000 or less, calculated per item
- 9% if total amount of the sale is over $5,000, calculated per item
Jewelry & Watches > Watches, Parts & Accessories
- 15% on total amount of the sale up to $1,000 calculated per item
- 6.5% on the portion of the sale over $1,000 up to $7,500 calculated per item
- 3% on the portion of the sale over $7,500

There is no charge to the seller for the authentication. If the price of the watch is below the threshold for automatic authentication, the buyer can choose to add authentication for a fee at time of payment.
eBay bases the final value fee on the listing category. So as long as your watch is listed in watches accessories & parts, the fees will be
The other set of fees is for other types of jewelry - bracelets, rings, etc. If you mistakenly list your watch in the bracelet category, the fee for other jewelry will apply.
