Confirming eBay International Shipping Service?
I have a problem with a current listing. For shipping I only indicated ships to the US but somehow a bid came in from Bulgaria and the bidder is asking me to ship to him. First, how did this happen if I did not indicate I would ship internationally on the listing? Second, how do I confirm I am eligible for the eBay International Shipping Service?

Mentor2 weeks ago@bowdaddy5 I just wanted to add that knives do NOT qualify for the eBay International Shipping Program even if your account is eligible.
As the others have stated this listing only has shipping to the US.
Let the buyer know that they will be required to provide a US address at checkout.

Your current active listing is showing that item only ships to the United States.
The Buyer from Bulgaria might be using a freight forwarder in the United States. That is allowed by eBay.
If you go to your Account Settings under Shipping Preferences, you can see if eBay has automatically enrolled you in their eBay International Shipping Program (eIS).

OP2 weeks agoThank you for answering! What is a freight forwarder and what section under shipping preferences shows whether I am enrolled in eIS?

A freight forwarder is a company in the United States that holds purchases for overseas Buyers and then ships them in bulk. Freight forwarders are usually located along either coast. Like Delware, Oregon, Florida, etc.
In your Account Settings> Shipping Preferences it should the eBay International Shipping Program at the top. If eBay has you in that program it will say Enrolled.
Right now there are major sites issues on eBay and other sites across the country. So everyone is trying to contact Customer Service today.
Most times it's quicker to ask your question here. 😀

Mentor2 weeks agoA freight forwarder is a company that accepts delivery in the USA of items on behalf of people who live/work in other countries. They collect packages addressed to cities, towns, villages in, say, Germany (my most recent freight-forwarded sale was to a German buyer). They pack them into larger shipping containers that qualify for "freight" rates, and ship them to a hub in Germany, where the packages are separated for direct delivery to those German buyers.
Those non-USA buyers contract with freight forwarders completely separately from their eBay purchases. I am sure such non-USA buyers do pay something to freight forwarders, but I have no idea what they pay.
Many freight forwarding companies are located in states that do not collect sales taxes. Two such states are Delaware and Oregon. Delaware freight forwarders tend to work with buyers in Europe, while their Oregon counterparts tend to work with Asian buyers. Geography.
YOU, as an eBay seller, will not know any bidder's or buyer's delivery address until after he/she has paid.
It is not at all dangerous for USA-based eBay sellers to ship/mail their sold items to addresses in Delaware or Oregon. No more so than if the buyer has a delivery address in Minnesota or Indiana or Wyoming.
There is one thing you do need to know, however, about such sales. In addition to eBay's regular Final Value Fee (FVF), usually 13.6% of the total paid by the buyer --
eBay charges an International Fee of 1.65% -- of the total paid by the buyer -- when the buyer's eBay-registration address is outside the United States, regardless of the delivery address. eBay collects that fee from the seller's proceeds. That's a very small percentage.

OP2 weeks agoAnd how do I get ahold of a human being with eBay? lol. I've requested they call me 4 times. Never received a call, not a missed call, nothing and then I get an email saying they tried to call and my phone number is correct in my profile
