Confirmed Counterfeit Item Rec'd, Order Older Than 90 Days
Hello,
I received a car part in 12/2025 and before I went to install in 3/2026 I decided to verify its authenticity with General Motors (GM). The seller had pictured an authentic part on the listing and sent an item in different packaging. I sent GM pictures of the part/packaging and they verified that it is counterfeit and that I should contact eBay for a refund. The listing was also removed by eBay when I reported upon receiving and sharing GM's response that the item was counterfeit (or possibly even before).
I have not been able to get anywhere with the eBay automated assistant because the order is greater than 90 days old. The seller agreed to give me a refund without sending the item back if I initiate the refund, however I cannot initiate a return because of the transaction's age.
How can I get my money back here? Thanks.
