Concerns Regarding Repetitive Purchases on eBay (scammer?)
Hi,
A particular individual has been making repetitive purchases of the same listing, using different zero-feedback accounts each time. There doesn't appear to be a direct connection between the shipping addresses, as they are located in two different states in different parts of the US. However, what stands out is the striking similarity between the usernames associated with these accounts: "dre_42582" and "step_26151." I'm wondering if my next sale is going to be jon_12345, etc.
I keep canceling the orders because I'm weary of potential scams but I'm worried that I'm going to have 12 account defects by the end of the week. Should I just ship the item and see what happens?
I realize that I might not have the most robust selling history, being a zero-feedback seller myself. I just couldn't help but notice this unusual pattern, and it's making me feel somewhat uneasy about continuing to operate on the eBay platform.
Any advice? Similar experiences?
Thanks

OP2 years agoYou're absolutely right, and I appreciate your perspective. I'm probably just paranoid from past experiences on other platforms. I've been using "problem with shipping address"
Thanks for the response.

·2 years agoHow do you know it's the same buyer?
Sounds like the buyers are using a guest account to buy the items, which a lot of buyers do.
Could be why there are different addresses, because it's different buyers.
What reason are you using to cancel the orders?
