I purchased a DVD on ebay. Then nearly immediately saw that this item belonged to a seller out of country, with a n estmated shipping time of 5 weeks. This was unacceptable to me, so I tried to cancel the purchase. EBay texed me that I could not cancel until after my payment was processed. I almost immediately hit the cancel purchase button again. By that time the purchase had cleared. I texted the seller to cancel the purchase, he refused. To me this is unacceptable.
Sellers are under no obligation to comply with a cancellation request. Cancellations cost sellers time and money they can't recoup and disrupt the marketplace for other buyers.
You enter into a binding contract when you make the purchase, so in the future be sure to read all the information in the listing BEFORE committing to buy instead of after.

Depending on the issue you can use the Report item link on the listing(s) in question to alert eBay of an issue.
So what exactly happened?
