Combining Shipping of two separately Listed Items
I have several paintings up for auction and one person has bid on two of them. They are listed separately along with the specific shipping box and weight and projected cost to ship for each. If the buyer requests that I ship both together, what do I do when it comes time for the buyer to make the final payment. Do I just say NO, I have to ship them separately or do I accommodate him and rebox and ship both in a new box. How do I alter the posted shipping charges I guess is what I'm asking ?

My item descriptions end with "Shipping is combined" BUT on certain larger items I will qualify that with "Shipping combined when economical". Depending on the size of the box for both pictures it might be more cost effective to ship them separately. That is a judgement call on your end once the orders are purchased.
If both items come through paid on ONE invoice you can still print TWO separate labels and send two separate packages.
Dimensional wight for USPS is any package over 1728 cubic inches which you can determine by multiplying L x W x H on any box. Shipping costs go UP quite a bit over that Dimensional weight level. I've seen coast to coast shipping cost double or more on larger packages that exceed Dimensional weight.
Prior to the holidays USPS had a $ 4 surcharge for packages over 22" long and $ 15 for those over 34" (if memory serves).
You can do some estimating between now and when the auctions end to decide how you will ship multiple pictures.

Mentor3 years agoIf you are able to accommodate the buyer's request and still safely ship the items, your buyer will appreciate it. Figure out the new weight, and let him know what the combined shipping would be, and that he should wait for an invoice from you. Use the calculator to find the new cost - https://www.ebay.com/shp/Calculator
After the auctions end, go to your sold list and click send invoice next to one of the items. The system will pick up the other. Adjust the shipping and send the invoice.
You have them listed with calculated shipping, so unless you have set a rule not to combine, I believe the default is to add the weights together for a combined shipping cost if the buyer goes directly to checkout.
