Combined Shipping
Summary: gymnite is seeking advice on how to handle a situation where they packed four items into one box for a customer, which caused three items to appear as unshipped. They manually marked the items as shipped but are unable to confirm due to server maintenance. They are also looking for guidance on refunding the shipping cost difference and on how customers can combine shipping costs when placing orders.
I need help. A person bought 4 items from me, so I packed them into one box, used one of the items to create a mailing label, increased the box measurements and weight and sent them off. They’re on their way. But….
By doing this, the other 3 items show as not shipped. I found a button that gave me a choice to classify the item as shipped, so I did that on the remaining 3. But I can’t verify that they were reclassified as shipped, because the server is down for maintenance…
If this is the correct way to do this, he would have paid a little more than I paid. How do I refund the difference? Is there a way to have the customer combine the costs by weight when he’s placing the order?
Any help would be appreciated!

You should mark the item as shipped from the drop-down list to the right, here:
https://www.ebay.com/mys/sold
Then, if you wish, you can gently encourage your buyer to leave feedback for you. (Being too pushy can backfire.)
✓ Your money will be released eventually, 30-60 days, even without tracking or feedback.
To issue a partial refund
1) Go to your Sold order here: https://www.ebay.com/mys/sold
2) Select "Send Refund" from the drop-down list to the right.
3) You will be able to select the exact amount of the refund to send.
4) Confirm the refund
For the Future
- If the buyer pays for more than 1 item separately, you can combine the orders before selecting a label using the "bulk shipping" tool on the browser.
Put a check mark to the left of your items on this page
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT
Select "Shipping" above
On the next screen it will ask if you want to 'combine' the orders. Check that box.
Enter the weight and dimensions for the package and print your label.
