Combined Shipping?
Hi There, I recently had someone purchase all of an item I had available (3 same items) the weight of these items was combined when shipping was calculated (automatically by Ebay) however the size of package was not. When I went to ship the item the shipping cost was significantly higher (than seller paid) due to increased size of package. I think I have combined shipping turned on but don't see anything about combined size, only weights. Any suggestions or help to avoid this in the future? Thanks

Sadly, this is one of the areas that Combined shipping does not cover. eBay has no functionality to increase the package size when all shipping costs are added, they would have no way of knowing the final size of the package for the three items. Maybe someday an AI subroutine could get close but we are not there yet.
You will have to eat the cost and ship the items to the Buyer. The other option is to see if shipping two in one box and the other one in a 3rd box is cheaper. You can print more than one label for a multiple package shipment and you can let the customer know that they will get more than one package. On some large items I sell I will occasionally write that Shipping is Combined if economical.

OP1 year agoAhhhh... Thank you! I never thought of that as the items I typically ship are the same and I tape the boxes together, so in my mind it was simple math. Thanks for the response!
