colors of clothes look different in the photos

Are people using filters to make clothes look bolder or brighter? If so I wish eBay would put an end to that practice.

Lighting is the biggest factor. There isn't a filter on the listing tool, just a way to make the picture brighter, which I use when it' s cloudy. Years ago, saw a story online about the color of a dress that people saw differently.

There is nothing for eBay to stop. The color you see will depend on several factors. The lighting and time of day when the photo was taken and how your monitor or devise will render colors. All sellers will try to take the best photos of their clothes that they can to show details. The seller has no way of knowing how your monitor or devise will show the photos.
