Cold shoulder.
Summary: claymilano expresses frustration with eBay's customer service, noting difficulties in communication and dissatisfaction with promotional costs affecting their sales. inceptions suggests a method to contact eBay by using the contact link on the Help topics and typing "Agent" to get a callback. Despite trying this, claymilano finds the chatbot unhelpful. inceptions encourages asking questions on the forum for assistance from experienced mentors.
We are customers / sellers of eBay for more than 5 years. IT IS A NIGHTMARE getting too customer service. The last 2 years have been worse as they have changed their answering announcement. How can we make eBay any money if we are NOT selling? We keep getting alerts to "Promote" our items. We did this on the last $100 sale we had and netted $64 ( -36%). Yes I understand you have taxes (7 to 9%) and shipping costs, which is totally dependant on where the purchase is going, usually paid by buyer. But still $25 just for doing business with a company you can't converse with. Does anyone have an answer to the "Cold shoulder" we are getting from eBay? Thank you

MentorSep 18, 2026 at 4:09 AMHi @claymilano
There is a contact link at the bottom of each Help topic (use Help link at the topic of any eBay page. Find a topic that is close to what you want help with, and if your question isn't answered in the written topic, use the contact link to open the chat box. In the box type the word Agent. You may have to do this several times before getting the option to receive a call back.
For quicker help, you can ask your question right here to receive help from experienced mentors.

OP3 weeks agoI have tried this numerous times. Choosing a topic close to my issue but, AI is always wanting to assist and then says it doesn't understand and then disconnects. This Chat bot/ AI is a HUGE waist of time

Did you type "Agent" into the chat box (multiple times if needed) until the option to receive a callback is shown?
As I suggested to you yesterday, if you ask your question here, we can likely answer it for you.
