closing an order as delivered after hand delivery
Hi -
I sold a baccarat flute online over the weekend. The buyer paid for the item along with shipping and taxes. It turns out the buyer lives 25 minutes away from me. I only had one of these baccarat flutes and because of concerns regarding risk of damage in shipping, I asked the buyer if she would object to me delivering the box with her purchased crystal to her front door. She agreed and I delivered the champagne flute to her earlier today. the buyer has acknowledged receipt and her happiness via customer feedback and reply message, so there is documented verification the package has been received. The question now is how do I mark this order as delivered? I called ebay customer service and the guy I spoke with said after the order has been initiated the delivery option can't be changed. But since they see the delivery is complete I should just move the order to archive. Does the community agree this is the best and only way to resolve by moving the order to archive?
Thanks in advance Ebayers for helping me solve this one!

Mentor1 year agoYou should go to your Seller Hub > Orders > Awaiting shipment
Locate the order, click the down arrow, click Mark as shipped (even though you did not ship).
In the future, if you are going to do a Local Pickup, where one is not offered, it is best to file a cancellation with Problem with buyer's address. The buyer's payment will be refunded from your funds. Now you relist the item with Local Pickup, the buyer repurchases and repays. ebay will send the buyer a message with a QR-code as well as a 6-digit code. The buyer will bring that code when the pickup is made. You enter the QR-code or 6-digit code into the transaction to prove delivery.
