clever scam help.
An item was bought by me from a seller who when I paid asked me to direct any communication directly to him if there was any issues. Item never arrived and the seller is listed as "no longer a registered user", and does not respond to requests for tracking info.
When I try to initiate a case with ebay the item is listed as available for "Business Equipment Protection" services. When I initiate the claim the ebay bot tells me the item is under $1000 and not available for the above protections.
The inability to get a real customer service agent is irritating and unhelpful at best.

OP3 years agoThanks for this concise info. The "help" "resolution" section is woefully inadequate and frankly insulting.
The Commercial equipment protection people told me I could contact my Better Business Bureau!
Unbelievable.

Just for future transactions, here is a list of exclusions from the Ebay Money Back Guarantee:

Contact your credit card company to file a chargeback.
Ebay will not be able to help you since the item was listed in a category that is not covered by Ebay's Money Back Guarantee. Some sellers use that loophole to scam buyers. So sorry.
