Charging for item that they no longer have.

Second time this has happened recently, I buy something, I'm charged for it and then they send me a message that it's no longer in stock, now I have wait days for my money to go back on my card. How is this fine?

@roberriver-846. Just adding that if a seller cancels as out of stock then they receive a defect. Not very many defects and a sellers account is downgraded or even banned.

This usually happens when the seller uses a drop shipping company for their items. They do not know the item is out of stock until the order goes through. Although drop shipping is totally legal on eBay this is one of the problems that can be caused by drop shipping.
