Charged Twice for One Item
Sold an item with weight of 30+ pounds. Had to send the item in two boxes. Needed two (2) shipping labels. Was charged twice the same amount for each box. Have a package receipt which shows the two (2) tracking reference numbers. One of the numbers shows the weight, and the other shows no weight. I will pay for the shipping label which shows the total weight, but I feel I shouldn't have been charged the same amount for the second label. I will pay for the cost to print the second label, but not the original total cost. Any help or advise as to the best way to resolve this issue.

When a purchase needs to be shipped in two boxes, you need to enter the weight and dimensions of the 1st box and buy that label, then go back and enter the weight and dimensions of the 2nd box and then buy that 2nd label. So you purchase two labels, with different tracking numbers.
Is that what happened here?

OP5 months agoThanks for your quick response! Yes, I purchased two (2) labels. I knew the size of the box that was suggested for shipping would not hold all the items. I had packed the items in two (2) boxes. When I chose to print the shipping label, I knew I would need to have two (2) labels, so I chose to print a "second" label. Not realizing that I would be charged the same amount for the second label as the first. I had sent a message to the buyer that the item was being sent in two (2) boxes due to the quantity of the item. The Drop-Off Package Receipt shows the two (2) tracking reference numbers; one shows the weight of 30 lbs., and the other shows a weight of 0 lbs. I have spoken to Ebay customer service, and their suggestion was to ask the buyer to pay for the second label! The buyer has already paid what the original shipping cost was. I don't feel it's in the best interest of selling/purchasing to ask for more money! Not good business practice! I have already had to add an additional amount of money to my account to cover for the second shipping charge! In my opinion, Ebay is getting paid twice for one item purchased. The buyer has paid for shipping, and I have paid "twice" for shipping, the same amount! Thanks for listening. I certainly have learned my lesson, and I'm not sure I will continue with selling through Ebay. i would rather donate than go through this again!
