What you are probably seeing is a pre-authorization. All banks/credit card companies do this, holding the funds until the actual charge goes through. This is especially noticeable on holidays and weekends. When the original charge goes through, the pre-authorization will fall off. You don't have to worry, as sellers do not see your payment method or have access to your card number.
