Charged too much

Question

I recently bid on an item. The bid was accepted. I looked at my statement and noticed that I was charged the full price and not the price that was agreed upon. I contacted the seller and they noticed this too. I really like the item a lot. The seller said they would try to figure it out. What do I do? Do I just return it?

Maybe the seller can figure out how to do a partial refund â€“ and btw how much difference are we talking about here? â€“ or he can't. I think the seller would not have accepted an offer if it were a significant amount. Is it worth returning the item, and possibly getting blocked then never getting the item you like a lot?

When you receive a Best Offer, it's easy to accidentally click Buy It Now for the full price instead of the discounted price.
