Charged for shipping to authenticator
Hi, this is my first sale with eBay and I’m a bit surprised that I was charged for shipping to the authenticator even though I selected buyer pays for shipping in the listing. I just accepted an offer and the transaction details show that the buyer paid $13.35 shipping but it’s still charging me $34 to ship to the authenticator.
When I clicked on the “Get shipping label†link it had me to acknowledge that $34 will be deducted from my earnings. It didn’t let me pick the carrier /shipping type. That was all prefilled and greyed out. It only gave me the option to add or waive additional insurance coverage for $20.
The additional shipping fee wasn’t mentioned anywhere. In fact it explicitly said buyer pays shipping and eBay covers all costs of the authentication process with no cost to the seller. The Authenticator address is literally 20 minutes away. This “hidden†fee feels kinda scammy.

Where did you come up with the shipping cost the buyer was supposed to pay? Your package should have been measured and weighed to determine the shipping cost no matter how near or far it is being sent. Because of the cost of the item signature confirmation was required and insurance might have been as well.
