Charged for Return Shipping when it should have been charged to the buyer. He returned for reason "no longer needed, changed mind"
Summary: britnbrat2007 expressed frustration over a transaction issue involving a push bar sale on eBay. After mistakenly setting shipping parameters, they faced unexpected freight charges and a return that damaged the item, affecting resale value. Despite setting the return policy to 'buyer pays shipping,' eBay processed a charge from their account for return shipping, leading to financial difficulties, including a negative balance and a bank fee. Despite assurances from an agent to freeze the charge pending an appeal, the charge went through, worsening the situation.
Hi! I am EXTREMELY pissed off at this situation. I sold a push bar for a Tahoe for 349.95 + shipping. I made a mistake on shipping by only adding the weight but not the dimensions, which made my USPS Ground Advantage cost of 103.51 get changed to freight that ended up making shipping cost 177.95. With that said, I understand that I'd be responsible for the difference. I had it set to 14 day returns by accident, which doesn't bother me too bad. However, I had it set to Buyer pays return shipping. So i get the item back and the box was totally destroyed so I can't sell it as "NEW IN BOX" now. Which is going to cause me to lose money. But the problem I am facing is ebay shows I gave a Full Refund in one place, and in another it says Partial Refund. Yet the refund has since been processed, and now I got a message from ebay saying they are taking 186.24 from my bank account for return shipping. I got in touch with an agent and she said she was going to appeal it and that once she starts that, it would freeze that charge from processing and coming out of my bank account. It didn't. Now i have a negative balance and no money to buy food. I also incurred a $30 insufficient funds charge by my bank. Please help!
