charge on my acccount
There is a small charge on my account, which I do not recognize, which appears to be unrelated to my transactions. How do I go about contesting it?

If on a credit card statement, contact your card issuer for details or to dispute the transaction and get a new card number issued.

OP3 years agoI did that and the charge was removed. However, I am still mystified as to how the charge appeared in the first place, as neither eBay nor PayPal show it in my account, yet it is attributed to both on my credit card.

Mentor3 years agoThat can happen if the charge was made by someone using your credit card number in their own (or someone else's) eBay and PayPal account. The charge would appear in that user's eBay and PayPal account, not yours.
In order to do that, someone would need to obtain your card number somehow. Your card number is not displayed anywhere in your eBay account, and is not shared with sellers you purchase from by eBay.
