I listed an item for auction I had no idea what it was worth People started asking about and telling me the listing is wrong and some wanted to report it I tried to revise the add and it wouldn’t let me . After trying everything I was able to end the sale. And unknowingly got charged $900 I’m trying to contact them and They called me I could not understand the language she was speaking and asked to talk to an English speaking person and she hung up on me. What can I do ? I took the picture and eBay did the rest what recourse do I have. I’m not paying 900 dollars for a listing they wrote

Mentor4 months ago@33xtralong As my fellow Mentor stated you are responsible for the content of the listing and fees are charged based on the highest bid if you end the auction early. Also if you used Reserve Price there is an additional 7.5% fee that is due even if the item doesn't sell, this is why you should always start auctions at a price you will be happy with if you get just one bid.
You can try contact customer service to see if they will give a courtesy credit or not.
Here's how to Contact Customer service ( Since this affects your bottom line I feel that it's ok to use this contact method)
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT in the chat bot box on the lower right. (Do not add any additional information)
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.

OP4 months agoOk thanks but what would have happened if I sold it and the person who buys it flags it .Then what? I tried to revise it and it wouldn’t let me . I tried to do the right thing it is the first time selling on eBay and honestly don’t know . That’s a little extreme for an item that didn’t sell . I will try again with customer service I tried several times even the way you suggested but no response which is really poor business practices. Thanks for your input

Mentor4 months agoThe listing is your responsibility and when you ended it early you get charged a fee.
If you end an auction with bids and cancel them, eBay may charge a Final Value Fee equal to the amount of the highest bid.
