Changing your mind about buying an item after you pay for it.
Buyer selected and paid for an item. After she bought it and before I could mail it, she wrote to me and said she changed her mind and that she bought it in error. She immediately opened a case saying it had not been timely received. That was within 24 hours of buying it. I mailed the item the very next day. The day she received the item, she opened another case saying "it was not as described". That statement was untrue. I listed it for $70 and accepted her bid of $45. I spoke with Ebay several times and they assured me I did not have to accept the item back...she had buyer remorse. Ebay said "we have your back" and "this is against our policy". Now Ebay has gone back on their policy, gave the Buyer permission to return the item and is forcing me to give her a refund of the money they are holding. I would appreciate feedback on this unfair situation and can someone please explain to me why Ebay does not have to follow its own policy? Thank you.

Mentor2 years agoIf you received the buyer's message about the cancellation, and you had not shipped it yet, why didn't you file a Cancellation for Buyer's request?
Once the buyer files a case stating Not as Described, you WILL accept the return and pay for return shipping. I know that doesn't seem fair, but that is the way it works. If the buyer stated she changed her mind, she would pay return shipping.
