changing seller name
is there a way to change the seller name and link the new name to the old name as to not lose followers.

In addition to what @eburtonlab has provided members can change their User ID every 30 days.

It is possible for a seller to change the username, and that should not cause the seller to lose any followers that have added the seller to a Saved Seller list. Users that have bookmarked the seller's profile may wind up with a nonworking link, however.
It is also possible for the seller to subscribe to a store, and then the store name would appear in the seller's listings rather than the username. Not sure if that helps users that have bookmarked a profile page, though, but at least if the user knows the original username, that can still be searched on the Advanced Search page to find the seller's listings.
