Changing description
Curious how someone does this.
Clearly it says it's 6 foot, but when you buy it or click on the "view all details button," it then says it's sold by the foot, which wasn't stated on the previous screen. How can you have two descriptions for the same product?

Mentor2 years agoThat link is a product page, not an individual item listing. Many individual listings may be associated with the same catalog page. When one listing sells out, another listing takes its place as the default purchase on the product page.
In some cases, two items with the same part number may have different characteristics, such as your six foot length versus custom length at a certain price per foot.
If you find yourself looking at a product page, you should always use the "view all details" button to see the actual listing you are purchasing to make sure it actually matches the catalog description.

The seller's individual listing may become associated with a product page by the seller including a part number that is linked to the product catalog page when listing, and perhaps checking (or not unchecking) a specific box. In many cases, the seller has never seen the product catalog page and has no idea that the information there may actually contradict the individual listing that the seller sees but that the buyer may not.
