Change from pick up to ship
Buyer paid for item that was listed “ local pick upâ€. They apparently misunderstood. When I finally was able to get communication from them they said to get shipping cost and they will pay it and I can ship it.
how do I change from pick up to ship in order to let the buyer know how much and how to pay? I’m going to take the item ( vintage sewing machine) to ups and have them pack it and ship it.
Virtual assistance was no help. Thank you!

Mentor2 years ago@jmmk.re-27 I hope you're not referring to the sewing machine. That should be a local pick up only item as it would be VERY expensive to ship. I have been selling for 20 years and would not attempt to ship that type of sewing machine. Too much risk of damage in shipping due to the weight, plus the size of the box would be too large and it have to ship freight and probably be crated. If you ship then you are responsible for the item arriving safely and for any money back guarantee refund requests.
If the sewing machine is the item then cancel as problem with buyers address and refund the buyer.
If you are referring to another item then the only way to handle this would be to cancel the sale as problem with buyers address. Refund the buyer, relist with shipping. This is the only way you will be able to add tracking to prove delivery and receive the buyers shipping address via eBay checkout.

You will need to get your ups store to figure out the packing cost and the shipping cost for you. They can tell you the shipping based on the buyer’s zip code. It will not be cheap.
Then you should cancel the transaction as problem with buyer’s address. Relist the item with flat rate ups shipping, with the cost being the sum of the packing and shipping, plus some $ to cover the 13% fees. Send your buyer the new item # so he can buy it again, if the shipping cost doesn’t scare him away.
