There are several ways to do this but the most direct way is as follows BUT it is not a simple point and click changeand I include some important points in considering this change:
-On your Active list use the drop down menu and select Change to Auction. The listing will move to a new screen with certain settings displayed left to right on the screen.
-Your previous BIN price becomes the starting bid price. You can ADD a Buy it now price but it has to be at least 30% higher than your starting bid price. Your starting bid price should be high enough to cover your cost, eBay fees and most importantly, your profit margin.
-When you make the Change to Auction for a single quantity listing, eBay ends your fixed price Buy it now listing and creates the auction-style listing. For Buy it now listings with multiple quantity, in addition to creating your new auction-style listing, eBay keeps your original fixed price listing active and reduce its quantity by 1.
-When running auctions you need to decide WHEN you want the auction to end as well as it's duration of either 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. 1 & 3 days durations have a $ 1.00 Special Duration fee. I find auctions do well ending on a weekend later in the day or evening, historically a lot of shopping is done online when folks are home. Locate the Starting time column and click the up-down arrows or the blue "Immediate" word to open the Scheduler. The time will be displayed for your time zone and you can select the day via the Calander link. Count back from the day you want the auction to end to set your starting day.
-An Auction with NO BIN price cannot have Immediate payment required on it. With the BIN price having Immediate payment required is an option. If you go to launch the listing without a BIN price eBay may prompt you on the Immediate payment required setting if it does not work for the settings you have.
It is fairly simple. Find the item on your selling list and from the drop down menu next to the item click on "Change to auction". Make sure to double check everything on the listing including the price since doing this can change things unexpectedly. Then relist the item.
