Challenge a Return after Ebay Authentican
I sell sports cards and the pictures were clear after I sent them off that there was no damage or wear on the card. The card made it through authentication without any reported issue and then to the buyer. The buyer wants to return the item due to a dent/scratch in the card "after it arrived". I was also charged by Ebay the cost of the item (377) with my processing funds but the case is still outstanding or being reviewed by Ebay as well as there is still a hold of the same amount currently on Hold. What are my options here. I need to file for a credit and have Ebay hold the authenticator responsible.

OP1 year agoThe good news is that the case was closed and I have the money returned. Not sure, but this was all I got as an update.

Mentor1 year ago@beast_mode_kris A buyer has 3 days from the date of delivery to file a return request for trading cards. If it is past 3 days from the date of delivery then you can refuse the return.
I understand that this is frustrating since the card was authenticated and possibly mishandled. The problem is that if you wait the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You get a defect and you don't get your sellers fees back and buyer may be allowed to keep the card.
You can try talking to customer service on social media and see that they say about "holding the authenticator responsible" but sadly I don't think that will happen.
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

OP1 year agoUnfortunately, the buyer already started that process without reaching out to me directly and already started that. I don't think I could have even intervened.... It went straight to Ebay review without me having a chance to work it out if possible.
But the feedback is much appreciated.

I think @comics-scifi-collectibles is saying that you could decline the return case, right in the return, *if* it was after 3 days post delivery.
How long did the buyer have the card?

Mentor1 year ago@beast_mode_kris. What I meant was that you should be able to deny the return in the request IF the return request was filed more than 3 days after delivery to the buyer.
If the buyer filled the request WITHIN 3 days of delivery then I am sorry to say but you need to accept the return.

Your cards had a no return policy which I believe applies after the card goes through authenticity.
